"Dandy Magazine is literary and arts print publication dedicated to the modern Southern dandy. For our first issue, we have curated the art and poetry of 25 Arkansans from across the state. Our mission is to tell uniquely Arkansan stories about true grit, natural beauty, and the bittersweetness of Southern society. "
I created this print project, overseeing it from conception to distribution. First, I launched a marketing campaign to solicit submissions for the first issue that drew 100+ entries. I raised several hundred dollars to cover the cost of production for the initial printing. I then curated and/or edited the selected poetry and artwork, designed the layout, and prepared printer’s documents, before coordinating the dissemination of the magazine across 6 states. Now I am developing relationships with vendors, and have so far placed the magazine in 5 local stores. I plan to create a second issue.

I had the pleasure of working with the literary magazine's editorial staff to curate the content and visuals in this magazine and assist with distribution around the state of Arkansas. I wrote an article, found on pages 22-23, titled "Hill Bombing: Inside the Skating Movement Nouveau of Northwest Arkansas".
I wrote an article published in the Arkansas Times titled “Arming the Left: Rock City Defense aims for a new model of mutual aid.” I felt that it was an important story for my local community in Little Rock, and I gained more valuable field experience researching the article and conducting interviews.
I decided to launch a Substack account specifically to publish this article, "The Disability Penalty: Utah Man Blinded in Prison". I met Joey, the central character of the story, through my work at ABILITY Magazine, although the article turned out to be a little too politically charged to include in their publication. Political or not, Joey deserved to have his story recorded.
